Code of Conduct (March 2022)

Kahlon Migration Consultants adheres to the Code of Conduct issued by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) in March 2022. The Code sets out the professional standards, ethical obligations, and duties owed by registered migration agents to their clients, the profession, and the regulator.

  • Act honestly, fairly, and in the best interests of the client at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and communications.
  • Provide honest, objective, and competent advice based on current migration law.
  • Charge fees that are fair and reasonable, disclosed in writing before work begins.
  • Keep clients informed of the progress of their matter and any material developments.
  • Declare any conflict of interest and decline instructions where one cannot be managed.

Consumer Guide

The MARA Consumer Guide explains your rights and protections when engaging a registered migration agent. It outlines what an agent must do for you, how fees should be handled, and how to make a complaint if you are dissatisfied with the service provided.

  • You should receive a written agreement detailing services and fees before any work commences.
  • You may keep your original passport and personal documents — agents must not retain them unreasonably.
  • Agents must not guarantee a visa outcome; no registered agent can promise a successful result.
  • If you have a concern, you may complain to MARA, who can investigate and take disciplinary action.
